Biography

Ms. Monaghan is Ernst & Young’s National Public Sector Assurance Leader, the Ottawa Not for-Profit Leader, the Market Leader for Ottawa’s assurance practice, and the local People Leader. She has worked alongside many Audit Committees, meeting with their Board of Directors to ensure they understand important issues and trends as they arise and more importantly, that could impact their organization’s policies, transparency and decision making.

Ms. Monaghan was admitted to the firm’s partnership in 1994 and served as Office Managing Partner from February 2004 to June 2013.

Ms. Monaghan has been highly active in the not-for-profit, charitable and volunteer
community having served as the Chair of Applications Committee of the Institute of Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario. She has also served as a Board and Executive Committee member and Treasurer of the Audit and Finance Committee of a number of not for-profit organizations and foundations in the Ottawa area.

Ms. Monaghan obtained a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Ottawa in 1983. In
2006, she became a Fellow of the Order of Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario.
This recognition is given to CPAs for the honour they have brought to the profession through commitment to the Chartered Professional Accountant’s Institute or a similar professional association, their career, community service, research, teaching, or writing.
