Developing a culture of academic integrity is a University priority expressed through our committees and working groups.

Academic Integrity Committee

The Academic Integrity Committee is part of the Office of the Vice-Provost, Academic Affairs. It’s made up of students, professors and faculty representatives, as well as representatives of units on campus like Student Affairs and the Teaching and Learning Support Service. We’re designing and implementing a framework for academic integrity at uOttawa, including resources for students and professors and training modules for students at all levels (and these Web pages).

Measuring our progress in academic integrity

The academic integrity committee developed a model to measure our progress in academic integrity. The model will evolve according to our changing needs. Stay tuned for reports on our progress. Our intended outcomes include: (1) greater student and professor knowledge about academic integrity, (2) higher levels of academic integrity and lower levels of misconduct, (3) maximal efficiency in the associated operational aspects.

Working groups

Working group (2022): Academic integrity module for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers 

We’re designing and developing a training module for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, so they can complete their studies with integrity and prepare for the next steps in their careers.

Working group: Academic integrity module for undergraduate students 

We’ve completed a large-scale pilot of our training module for undergraduate students and are using the results, including student feedback, to make improvements. We’re grateful to have a large number of first-year students as part of this working group.
