Whether you are looking to train or just to have fun, our aquatic centre offers a variety of programs to meet everyone's needs.

Dive in during one of our lane or leisure swim times or participate in one of our many aquatic programs and lessons. The University of Ottawa is an affiliate of the Lifesaving Society and also offers aquatic certifications.

Adult lessons: swimming 101

The Adult Swimmer Program is for beginners who may be just starting out or for swimmers who just want help with their strokes. Within the Adult Swimmer curriculum, participants set their own goals to develop water confidence and smooth recognizable strokes. Level one: you will work towards a 10 - 15m swim on your front and back. You'll do jump entries from the side and recover an object from the bottom in chest deep water. Improve your fitness and your flutter kick with 4 x 12m interval training.

Adult lessons: swimming 102

The Adult Swimmer Program is for intermediate swimmers who want to improve strokes and build endurance. Within the Adult Swimmer curriculum, participants set their own goals to develop water confidence and smooth recognizable strokes. Kick it up a notch working on two interval training workouts. You will be able to demonstrate breastroke arms and breathing over 10 - 15m.

Adult lessons: swimming 103

The Adult Swimmer Program is for the more advanced swimmer who wants to increase endurance and better efficiency. Within the Adult Swimmer curriculum, participants set their own goals to develop water confidence and smooth recognizable strokes. You will be swimming a 300m workout and sprinting 25 to 50m. You will master your front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke.
