Students in the vocal program acquire performance skills such as vocal technique, foreign language diction, and program building, and learn about stage deportment and vocal health.

They study a broad range of repertoire that encompasses music from the baroque, classic, romantic and contemporary periods. A core of nationally and internationally recognized performers and teachers give dedicated personal attention to help develop the artistry found in each individual singer. Voice professors within the School of Music and invited guests of international reputation give regular masterclasses.
