Medieval and Renaissance Studies

Medieval and Renaissance Studies

The period known as the European Middle Ages endowed the Western world with a rich architectural, musical, poetic, theological, literary and linguistic heritage. Our vision of the world has its origins in the Long Medieval period, so studying this era (beginning in Late Antiquity and reaching into modern times) provides an introduction to the past in all its dimensions: linguistic, cultural, historical, political, philosophical and religious. In addition to introductory courses in medieval civilization, the programs delve into history, classical studies, music, English, English and French literatures, theater and religious studies.
