Edward Jackson is Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies at the University of Ottawa. His research interests include higher education and economic development, community-university engagement, program evaluation, social enterprise and impact investing. A former associate dean and tenured faculty member at Carleton University, he has served as an advisor to the Canadian, Danish and Swiss development programs, the Rockefeller and MasterCard Foundations, and major non-governmental organizations, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa and South and Southeast Asia. Professor Jackson’s recent publications focus on forging effective community-campus research partnerships, expanding youth employment in Africa, and evaluating impact investment programs, and his research has been cited in more than 150 peer-reviewed social-science journals. He has lectured at Trent, Victoria, Warsaw and Witwatersrand universities, and holds honorary appointments at Carleton University, the Institute of Development Studies in the United Kingdom, and the Institute for Policy Alternatives in Ghana.
