I joined the School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa in 2004 and am currently an Associate Professor. I obtained my doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Manitoba in 1999, following which I spent several years at l'Université de Montréal as a Research Post-Doctoral Fellow and Associate Researcher. I have been a registered clinical psychologist in the province of Ontario since 2006. I am interested in examining children's emotional and behavioural development and in understanding how factors within the child's environment (e.g., parent-child relationships) can impact on development in positive and negative ways. I have a particular interest in child maltreatment, specifically understanding its impact on children's development and examining effective ways of intervening with children and families who have experienced maltreatment. My research has been funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) and by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). I have presented my research work in peer-reviewed journals of high quality and at a number of national and international conferences.
