Do you have an idea for a potential start-up? Or a simple idea to make a difference in the community? Come and share it with a panel of judges, get some feedback and gain experience during the next edition of the Entrepreneurial Idea Competition.

The next edition of the Faculty of Engineering Entrepreneurial Idea Competition will take place on November 30, 2023.

The first place winner will be awarded $2000, second place $1000, and third place $500. Best of all, your fellow students get to vote for your idea!

Competition timeline

  • September 21 to October 27, 2023: Registration period. Submit your idea before October 27 at 11:59 p.m.
  • November 10, 2023: Applicants will be notified if they have been selected to pitch their idea.
  • November 30, 2023: Finale - Pitch to a panel of judges as well as your peers. This competition is part of Design Day.

Eligibility requirements

  • Individual entries: participants will need to be registered students in any of the Faculty of Engineering undergraduate or graduate programs of studies during the Fall and/or Winter term.
  • Team entries: a majority of the participants need to be registered students in any of the Faculty of Engineering undergraduate or graduate programs of studies during the Fall and Winter term. For teams comprising only two individuals, this condition will be fulfilled if at least one of the two team members meets these eligibility requirements.
