Biography

Stephen Blair was called to the Bar in 1983. He carried on a general civil litigation practice from 1983 to 1997 in following areas: contracts, banking, security enforcement, insolvency, insurance, municipal defense, professional negligence, constitutional, personal injury, and employment law. He was a partner at Osler, Hoskin and Harcourt in Ottawa. In 1999, he graduated from the University of Ottawa's Executive MBA program. Mr. Blair began teaching at the Faculty of Law in 2003. 

In 2015-16, Prof. Blair will be teaching contracts, commercial law, evidence and trial advocacy. He also coordinates the Nelligan O'Brien Payne First Year Moot Court Competition and manages the "Bundle" of advocacy courses in upper years.
