Biography

Jane graduated with LLB from University of Ottawa in 1982.  She articled with Burke-Robertson in 1982-3 and was called to the Bar in 1984.  She was hired by Burke-Robertson immediately after being called to the Bar and became a partner in 1990. She continued to practice primarily in the areas of family law and estate litigation at Burke-Robertson LLP until 2017 when she moved to Mann Lawyers LLP and began to limit her practice to mediation and arbitration in the areas of family and estate law.  Jane was a founding member of the board of directors for Project Upstream and the Youville Centre.  She served as a co-chair of the Montebello Solicitors’ Conference Planning Committee between 2000 and 2004 and a trustee of CCLA from 2005 to 2009.  She enjoyed teaching at the Bar Admission course (as it then was) and has presented papers at several continuing legal education seminars for lawyers and judges.   Jane is currently on the Board of Directors for Upstream Ottawa.  She  is also a member of the Law Build Committee for Greater Ottawa Habitat for Humanity and has participated in builds in El Salvador, Zambia, New Orleans and Iqaluit.
