Excellence in Teaching

Faculty Development has launched an Excellence in Education Series. Workshops will be offered fall and winter/ spring sessions on a regular basis. Designed to prepare faculty for their teaching roles. All courses offered in the Excellence in Teaching Series are pre-approved for Teaching Skills Attainment Award credits.

Coaching and Mentoring

Faculty members can sign up for peer coaching designed to support development of your personal career goals.  Coaches are also faculty members who have been trained and certified as coaches. If you are interested to receive coaching or to be a coach please contact us.

Peer 2 Peer Observation of Teaching

The Office of CPD can assist in matching you to a colleague for peer feedback on your teaching in a formative atmosphere.  Peer observation can be done in the classroom, small groups, in your  virtual teaching, and when possible in the clinical setting. Peer observation may be in regard to teaching for  graduate students, medical students, residents and physicians in practice and all learners. Please contact  [email protected] to begin the process.

Learning objectives :

At the end of peer to peer observation the participant will 

  1. incorporate feedback in their teaching opportunities.

  2. seek specific faculty development to advance skills

  3. consider serving as a peer observers for others
