Our transformation plan
At uOttawa, the wellness of our students, our faculty and our staff are paramount. We have a robust plan to transform our culture, to make compassion and resiliency the hallmarks of our graduates. With your help today, we can save lives and change lives. We’ll be able to move quickly and make these changes together. All initiatives will be evaluated by experts for their effectiveness, enabling us to adjust our strategy, based on evidence, as we move forward.
New tools to connect with students:
Support for digital wellness tools including an interactive, engaging virtual space for students to find wellness information, participate in virtual wellness programming, develop skills and connect with peers.
Bolstered counselling and support for a Circle of Care:
Support increased counselling services for students and implement a case management model for students most at risk.
Wellness Training for a Stronger Community:
Support training of peers, faculty, and community members in mental health “first aid.”
“I have dealt with depression and anxiety myself, the perseverance I see in students with mental health challenges is awe-inspiring. We need to destigmatize mental illness.”
