Access to online resources

Although the Library would like to be able to offer access to everyone, it has a legal responsibility to limit access to authorized users. uOttawa Library’s online resources are acquired via binding legal documents that govern appropriate use and the Library's responsibilities for ensuring access by only authorized users as defined by the license. These licenses stipulate that the resources are for the exclusive use of current uOttawa faculty, students, and staff.

Individuals who are performing active and current work relating to uOttawa teaching or uOttawa led research activities may be sponsored by an internal uOttawa sponsor, typically someone at the Department Chair level or above. Examples include, but are not limited to, an individual that:

  • Supervises graduate student(s) from the Faculty of Social Science;
  • Conducts a systematic review for a uOttawa project led by a member of the Faculty of Medicine;
  • Co-teaches (50%) a course with a professor from the Faculty of Arts.
