Research Chair on International Francophonie and the Health of Immigrants and Refugees from Francophone Sub-Saharan Africa

Created in 2020, the Chair aims to examine existing knowledge on the physical and mental health of immigrants and refugees currently living in Francophone host countries.

Research program

Its research focuses, among other things, on the social determinants of health, such as sources of health-care injustice and the strategies implemented by regional authorities to facilitate access to health care and encourage its use. The goal of this research program is to describe the state of physical and mental health of recent immigrants and refugees from Sub-Saharan Africa now living in Ontario, France, and Francophone Belgium, in order to provide them with appropriate health care.
