Library and Archives Canada (LAC) and the University of Ottawa are pleased to announce the renewal of their framework agreement. This first-of-its-kind agreement between LAC and a Canadian university was initially signed in 2015 and renewed for five years.

Over the past few years, LAC and the University of Ottawa have been able to implement initiatives such as seminars, symposia, an exhibition and various events, including the Mauril Bélanger Lecture Series. LAC experts have participated in courses at the School of Information Studies, various workshops for students and professors, and book launches by the University of Ottawa Press (including for Justice Michel Bastarache) at 395 Wellington Street in Ottawa.

This new agreement will strengthen the ties that currently exist between the two institutions and continue the collaborative work that is already under way. It will also lead to new projects designed to encourage the spread of practical and institutional knowledge and new technologies in the fields of archival and library science.
